Wide variety of cuvettes

Newport’s cuvettes are made from UV grade fused silica or optical grade glass. The fused silica models transmit down to 200 nm. All four windows and the base of each cuvette are polished. Each cuvette is supplied with a Teflon® cover. The 13955 cover is designed to prevent spills. We offer 3 mm and 10 mm path length cells, for different applications. 3 x 3 cells are utilized for fluorescence studies, while 10 x 10 cells may be used for fluorescence, scattering, and absorbance measurements. These cuvettes fit inside Oriel’s shielded, flanged and fiber-coupled compartments, as well as all standard sample compartments. 

 

 

 

Shielded cuvette holder for optical bench work

The 13950 Shielded Cuvette Holder holds standard 10 x 10 mm cuvettes atop an optical rod. It has an 8 mm wide by 29 mm high rectangular aperture on all four sides. When viewing or detecting fluorescence or other signal through the sides of the cell, the apertures minimize reflected or scattered light from the cell input and output faces. The 13950 has a threaded 1/4-20 hole at the base for rod mounting. Newport offers a variety of beam probes to conduct light both to and from the cuvette.

 

 

 

Flanged sample compartment with interior baffles and optic holders

The 78100 Sample Compartment holds 10 x 10 mm cuvettes in an optical beam path to conduct sample analysis. The 1.5-inch series flanges couple to Oriel spectrographs, detectors and accessories. The interior baffle design of the 78100 prevents light from reaching the output without going through the cell, and the grooved lid prevents ambient light from entering the compartment. The lid comes off easily for quick insertion and removal of the sample. The 78101 port cover blocks light from entering any unused port. The 78100 also features an internal filter holder mounted to the inside of one of the ports. Excitation or emission filters may be utilized, without the need for an additional holder. The 78100 holds 2 inch [51 mm] diameter filters, up to 0.12 inches [3 mm] thick. In most applications, the incident light must be collimated and then focused onto the sample. The output beam may need to be re-collimated, or the fluorescing region of the cell could be imaged onto the input slit of an imaging spectrograph. The 78100 has two external lens holders for 1.5 inch [38 mm] diameter lenses. The clear aperture is 1.2 inches [30 mm]. The distance from the lens to the sample is 2 inches [51 mm]. If longer focal length lenses are desired, Newport offers a selection of spacer tubes.

 

 

 

Fiber bundle sample holder for easy alignment

To perform fluorescence, absorbance or other measurements on liquid samples, using the 30750 Sample Compartment eliminates the headaches of optical alignment. The 30750 holds up to three fiber bundles with equipped with collimating beam probes. The output of the fiber bundle can then be focused directly onto the sample. The emission radiation may be collected with a second fiber or sent directly to a detector. The 30750 holds 10 mm path length cuvettes.
